About Ayala

Ayala Corporation has a legacy dating back to 1834 when it was founded as Casa Roxas.
Initially involved in agriculture and distilling, Ayala evolved through generations, transforming into Ayala y Compañía. By the 20th century, Ayala had expanded and developed a strong presence in banking, insurance, telecommunications and real estate. After World War 2, in 1948, then Managing Partner Joseph McMicking created the Ayala Master Plan, the blueprint for Makati, now a premier business, commercial, and residential district in Metro Manila. The company formally became Ayala Corporation in 1968 and was listed on the Manila and Makati Stock Exchanges in 1976.
Today, Ayala has become a prominent player across multiple sectors. Its core businesses are in real estate, banking, telecommunications, and power, all of which have a significant impact on the Philippine economy. Ayala Land, its real estate arm, has been instrumental in developing not only Makati but also various growth centers throughout the country. Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), another key subsidiary, was the first bank in Southeast Asia and is one of the most trusted financial institutions in the country, offering a wide range of banking and financial services. Globe Telecom isa leading provider of mobile and internet services, continues to push innovations in digital solutions and connectivity. ACEN is leading the charge in renewable energy and aims to be the largest listed renewables platform in Southeast Asia.
In addition to these core businesses, Ayala has expanded into healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, education, infrastructure and automotive industries, reflecting its commitment to responding to the evolving needs of the country. Its ventures into new energy vehicles demonstrate a forward-looking approach, aiming to adapt to the global shift toward sustainability and innovation.
Ayala Corporation's long history of resilience and adaptability has allowed it to remain relevant and impactful across different periods in the Philippines’ socio-economic landscape. It operates with a deep commitment to national progress, aligning its business strategies with the country’s developmental goals.

Throughout its journey, Ayala Corporation has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability, integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its business practices.
This focus on long-term value creation is seen in its investments in renewable energy through ACEN, which is contributing to the just energy transition by increasing the share of renewables in the national grid.
As Ayala continues to evolve, its mission remains rooted in its purpose of building businesses that enable people to thrive. Its business portfolio and forward-thinking approach ensure that Ayala remains a leader in shaping the future of the Philippines while staying true to its 190-year legacy.
In recent years, we have taken a more deliberate approach to integrating the needs of a wider ecosystem into our business plans and in our continued symbiotic relationship with our stakeholders.
We diversified into sectors that are going through important social and economic transformation and are critical to sustaining our country’s economic progress—industrial technologies, hard infrastructure through power and transport, and social infrastructure through healthcare and education.
From today, our emerging businesses will take on a unified brand identity, where they establish a clear connection to Ayala, while having the space to grow as they become industry leaders in their own right. Collectively, AC Industrials, AC Infra, AC Health and AC Education will further drive innovation, synergy and dynamism for the Ayala group.
